What a final day! You know it was challenging when it takes me until the next day to write a blog entry. We wanted to make the most of our final morning so we rode four very challenging mogul runs and a run in the trees called Double Diamond.
It started snowing mid-morning and so that made it all the more beautiful. Mogul runs require constant leg work so my legs were totally shot by the time we were done. We had traversed over to the far side of the mountain and so we had to travel across four chair lifts to make it back and I had to keep stopping and stretching my thigh muscles half way down the slopes on the way back just to keep control of my board.
Bonnie came to visit us at breakfast and lunch. She has a sore rib and the mild concussion but that's it. She would have been back there with us if the neurologist had given her the green light but he said she should wait a week. She rides three days a week back home.
So, my instructor gave me some photos she took of me during the week and we all said our good-byes and promised to be back next year. I hope to do this every year. I have never gotten to snowboard so much with people at my level and we were all psyched to encourage each other each day to do better. I couldn't have asked for a better group and they said I fit right in with them and that I have to try to keep coming back. So, if I can, that's what I'll do. I am already looking forward to next year.
Aw, they sound so nice! I hope you go every year!
